Extreme Snow Sculpting Demonstration

Watch the magic unfold as professional sculptors reveal the art of sculpting snow at Bishop's Landing. The Snow Hackers team will create two large snow sculptures on the Halifax waterfront.  With snow blocks at 8’ tall and 10’ tall, the Snow Hackers will use chain saws, shovels, machetes and ice chisels to carve these masterpieces into Olympic themed snow sculptures. Don't miss the 3-day breath-taking transformation.

Urban Butter Snowboard Showcase

For the third year running, the Urban Butter Snowboarding Showcase will be gracing Halifax; only this year’s performance will be at Waterfront Winterfest on the Halifax waterfront.  By day, take the family and  check out the athletes practicing on the manmade rails constructed from scaffolding.  By night, watch the transformation unfold into the electrifying competition they produce for our viewing pleasure.  With qualifying rounds on Friday, and finals on Saturday, you will not want to miss it!  These guys provide a light show accompanied by talented athletes, commentary and a live DJ – no need to visit the ski hill; we’ve got it all right here!
